4. The travel mug was given companywide to associates at Honda of America Mfg., Inc. in Marysville, Ohio and to several other Honda sites to commemorate the launch of a major model change of the new model 2006 Civic.
The mug was given to say "thank you" to associates for all of their dedication and hard work.
The clients goal was to give a gift that would be unique yet useful, and custom...made exclusively for the associates.
Working closely together, the client and distributor Lee Wayne, sales rep Judith Greenberg, MAS.....came up with several ideas. Judith called Robert at Gordon Sinclair and the rest is history.
Robert made suggestions and went to work right away on a few virtual renderings. His expertise and guidance proved invaluable. And thus was born a stainless steel mug with the Honda H logo on the top that recipients could see, turn and drink thru,.......... the grip was modeled after the new civic interior steering wheel pattern which was pinhole diamond cuts, and the Civic logo was not screened but rather the logo was actually stainless steel embossed.
The process overseas took actually 3 proofs....one of the lid, one of the grip and one of the embossed stainless steel.
The distributor worked with Richard's Gourmet Coffee to have silver foil hot chocolate packets made and shipped to Gordon Sinclair. Thus one more proof yet. Richard's Gourmet silver packets were beautiful and Richards's expertise, guidance and timeliness added tremendously to the overall effect of the gift. The individual cocoa packets read, "Thank you, Honda associates! Much like the all new Civic, this premium hot chocolate is rejuvenating and sure to refresh your spirit." The hot chocolate packets were produced and shipped to Gordon Sinclair. Gordon Sinclair in turn sent the packets overseas to be inserted into each mug, then each mug individually boxed for gift giving.
The mugs were distributed to each associate and proved to be a huge success. They were exactly what the client wanted as they were unique, useful and custom.
Actually the distributor was on a first time call shortly after the distribution of the mugs......... and the marketing director of a large college excitedly told the distributor....."My husband works at Honda and he just brought home the coolest travel mug" and as she continued to describe the mug......the distributor smiled.....how cool to be able to say...."Yes, I know
